For example, there are cases where the former company hasn't completed the social insurance record closing procedures after the employee leaves. Some individuals have worked for multiple companies, but their social insurance data hasn't been fully synchronized. Additionally, there are cases where passport, visa, or social insurance number information is inaccurate, causing the verification process to take longer than expected.
Another common problem is that many foreign workers only begin processing their social insurance after leaving Vietnam, making it more difficult to supplement documents, work with their former company, or update data. Many people think that simply leaving their job will automatically result in social insurance payments. However, processing a lump-sum social insurance payment still requires following regulations and depends on the eligibility criteria of each specific case.
Furthermore, if the former company has dissolved, ceased operations, or is no longer responding, the employee should still directly check the status of their social insurance data to determine how their records are currently being recorded in the system. This is why foreign workers should review their social insurance records as soon as possible after leaving their job instead of waiting too long to start processing them, especially in cases where they have worked for multiple companies or have changed their personal information during their employment in Vietnam.
